2027 London Study Abroad Faculty
Tony Goodrich
Professor of Biology
I have been a Biology Professor at the DMACC Urban campus for over 20 years. I enjoy working with students as they develop an understanding and hopefully an appreciation of the intricacies and complexities of the scientific world. The history of scientific discoveries and the backgrounds of the scientists involved is something I blend into my courses to humanize the scientific process and allow for discussions about the creative and design stages of science. While in London we will venture to Darwin's home and see where he investigated plant movements, soil formation, and a little thing called evolution. How about an 1800's operating/surgical theater, some herbology, decoding the Rosetta Stone or gene splicing? I’m also a gigantic football/soccer fan, so we will definitely take in some games.

Dan Platt
Associate Professor of English and Phi Theta Kappa Advisor
Greetings, DMACC students! My name is Dan Platt, and I’ve been teaching courses in Composition, Communication, Film, and Literature at DMACC for four years now. I grew up in New Jersey and received my PhD in literature from the University of Oregon. A few years ago, I led a group of students from Graceland University on a study abroad trip to London and rural Western England, and I’m excited to be returning with DMACC students! Tentative plans for my courses include visits to sites celebrating British movie history, including the British Film Institute and the Harry Potter Studio. Stunning art museums, live music, world-class theatre, beautifully-designed parks and gardens: looking forward to helping you experience as much of it as possible in one of the greatest cities in the world!
